Kiln Trace Japan operates as a curated marketplace and studio network dedicated to traditional Japanese pottery, including Raku, Hagi, and Bizen ceramics. We connect collectors with master artisans and provide workshop booking services.
Our services include pottery sales, artisan profiles, workshop bookings, residency programs, and export assistance for international collectors.
User Accounts and Registration
To access certain features of our service, you may be required to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.
Marketplace Rules and Conduct
Users must conduct themselves in a respectful and professional manner when interacting with artisans, other users, and our staff. Harassment, discrimination, or abusive behavior will not be tolerated.
All pottery listings must be authentic and accurately described. Misrepresentation of products, provenance, or firing methods is strictly prohibited.
Payment Terms and Pricing
All prices are listed in Japanese Yen (¥) unless otherwise specified. Payment is due at the time of purchase for pottery items and workshop bookings.
We accept various payment methods as indicated during checkout. All transactions are processed securely through our payment partners.
Shipping and Delivery
We offer international shipping services for pottery purchases. Shipping costs and delivery times vary based on destination and item size. Customers are responsible for any customs duties or import taxes.
Items are carefully packaged to prevent damage during transit. Insurance is available for high-value items.
Returns and Refunds
Due to the handmade and unique nature of our pottery, returns are generally not accepted unless the item arrives damaged or significantly differs from its description.
Workshop and residency bookings may be cancelled up to 30 days before the scheduled date for a full refund, subject to our cancellation policy.
Intellectual Property Rights
All content on our website, including text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of Kiln Trace Japan or our content suppliers and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
Artisan profiles, firing logs, and provenance documentation remain the intellectual property of the respective artisans and are shared with permission.
Workshop and Residency Terms
Workshop participants must follow all safety guidelines and instructions provided by master artisans. Kiln Trace Japan is not responsible for injuries resulting from failure to follow safety protocols.
Residency programs require advance booking and may have specific requirements regarding experience level and duration of stay.
Limitation of Liability
Kiln Trace Japan shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses.
Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific service or product in question.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Kiln Trace Japan and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees arising out of your use of our services.
This includes any violation of these terms or infringement of any intellectual property or other right of any person or entity.
Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account and bar access to our services immediately, without prior notice or liability, under our sole discretion, for any reason whatsoever, including breach of these terms.
Upon termination, your right to use our services will cease immediately, but provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
